Club rhythms meet a cloudier sense of improvisation on BEFORE MIDI’s Invaders, Qu’est-ce que c’est? The EP is made with Turin and Europe’s underground club scene in mind, balancing dark electronic textures with the looseness of live playing.
Recorded live and then rearranged for peak-time vinyl play, the four-track release includes 808 Laboratories, Blackstreet Boys, Le Streghe di Moncalieri and the title track. The approach puts performance at the centre of a record designed for DJ sets: its improvisations sit alongside a darker, club-focused sound, rather than being left as standalone session recordings.
